WILLIAM AND CATHERINE OFFICIAL VISIT TO PAKISTAN – DAY 1

The Duke and The Duchess of Cambridge are undertaking an official visit to Pakistan between Monday, October 14 and Friday, October 18, at the request of The Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

“The Duke and Duchess’s programme will pay respect to the historical relationship between Britain and Pakistan, it will largely focus on showcasing Pakistan as it is today – a dynamic, aspirational and forward-looking nation. From the modern leafy capital Islamabad, to the vibrant city of Lahore, the mountainous countryside in the North, and the rugged border regions to the West, the visit will span over 1000km, and will take in Pakistan’s rich culture, its diverse communities, and its beautiful landscapes”.

Monday 14 October

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Arrived in Pakistan

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi, near Islamabad, Pakistan.

The Royal Couple were greeted by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs and his wife Mehriene Qureshi.

Two young children in traditional dresses presented The Duke and The Duchess with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Royal Fashion: Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess looked elegant in an aqua shalwar kameez by British designer Catherine Walker. The set features an ombré effect.

Shalwar kameez is a traditional Pakistani outfit composed of a flared kurti, a long shirt, and trousers.
