THE QUEEN OPENED NEW SESSION OF THE PARLIAMENT

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by her son Prince Charles of Wales, opened a new session of Britain’s Parliament at The Palace of Westminster, commonly known as the Houses of Paliament, in London, England on December 19, 2019.

Charles, Prince of Wales and British Queen Elizabeth II travelled in a car to the Houses of Parliament to deliver Queen’s Speech.

During the ceremony, The Queen delivered a speech written by the government. The Queen’s speech is the second of this year and set up the government’s plans for the Parliamentary session ahead.

The monarch did not wear the heavy Imperial Crown during the ceremony. It was placed on a table alongside Queen Elizabeth for the duration of the Her Majesty’s speech.

For the ceremony Her Majesty wore printed silk dress and muted jade coat from Stewart Parvin with matching straw hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan.

She also carried her classic black Launer handbag, classic pearls and the Cullinan V Brooch.
