THE CAMBRIDGES HOST RECEPTION FOR UK AFRICA INVESTMENT SUMMIT

At the reception, the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge were accompanied by Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

The Summit brought together Heads of State and Government and senior representatives from African countries, key multilateral agencies and high-profile UK and African businesses to demonstrate the strength of the relationship between the UK and Africa.

The Summit strengthens the UK’s partnership with African nations to build a secure and prosperous future for all citizens. It mobilises new and substantial investment to create jobs and boost mutual prosperity.

United Kingdom is committed to supporting economic development across Africa, through the creation of new jobs and lasting partnerships.

During the evening The Duke of Cambridge spoke of his love of Africa, saying:

“The African continent holds a very special place in my heart. It is the place my father took my brother and me shortly after our mother died. And when deciding where best to propose to Catherine, I could think of no more fitting place than Kenya to get down on one knee.”

Royal Fashion: The Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess of Cambridge sparkled in a new red dress by Needle and Thread London, her dress is a midi-length version of the “Aurora” sequin gown.

Her Royal Highness carried her Jenny Packham “Casa” clutch in red and wore her Gianvito Rossi “Gianvito 105” red suede heels.

For jewellery, she wore a new pair of earrings by Soru Jewellery, the Ruby Earrings.

Royal Fashion: The Countess of Wessex

The Countess of Wessex wore Alaia scalloped dress, her Lucia Odescalchi “Lens” earrings, and brown Gianvito Rossi velvet heels. Her necklace was a gift from Kosovo.
