Belgium

  • King Philippe and Queen Mathilde made a video conference with the director and the nursing staff of the Sint-Truiden Transitional Care Center. These centers provide care to patients infected with coronavirus who are medically authorized to leave the hospital but who cannot yet return home.
  • Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited Ghent University Hospital (UZ Gent) to meet with healthcare providers. Day in, day out, healthcare providers work with corona patients under exceptional circumstances. The crisis and its consequences can also weigh on their minds. UZ Gent therefore offers psychological support to its employees. The mental wellbeing of patients, their families and the caregivers is very important to overcome the coronavirus. ⁣


Denmark

  • Happy 13th Birthday to Princess Isabella of Denmark, Countess of Monpezat (Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe; born 21 April 2007). She is the second child and elder daughter of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary.
  • The annual board meeting of the Mary Foundation was held at Frederik VIII’s Palace. This year, the meeting took place via video conference due to COVID-19 pandemic. At the meeting, they talked about what Mary Foundation is doing to focus and help solve the problems that follow in the wake of the Corona crisis.
  • Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and his family have taken up residence at the Chancellery House at Fredensborg Palace for the coming months. The family intends to spend more time there than they already did.

Luxembourg

  • One year has passed since the death of Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg (5 January 1921 – 23 April 2019). An anniversary mass in his memory will be celebrated at the Luxembourg Cathedral on Thursday May 7, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the mass will take place without the physical presence of the faithful but will be broadcast live via internet
  • RIP Grand Duke Jean ||Tribute in Honor of Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg.


Monaco

  • Princess Alexandra of Hannover, the youngest daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, gave her first interview to a media outlet, the Spanish Magazine TELVA. Princess Alexandra wore Dior.


Netherlands

  • King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands conducted video calls with various organizations regarding coronavirus at Huis ten Bosch Palace. Behind the King: a picture of him and Queen Elizabeth II in the robes of the Order of the Garter, accompanied by Queen Máxima.
  • Dutch royals were to celebrate King’s Day (Koningsdag) on Monday 27th in Maastricht, but will celebrate like many others in their home on digital platform ‘King’s Day at Home’. King Willem-Alexander will give a speech at 10am, national toast at 4pm. During the day they share content of the family.


Spain

  • King Felipe and Queen Letizia continue working from home, Zarzuela Palace, this week Their Majesties held video meetings with representatives of Down Association Spain, Madrid Diabetes Association, Novo-Nordisk Diabetes Foundation (NNDF), hospitality industry, pharmaceutical industry, and others.


Sweden

  • Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel held telephone meetings with several representatives from the cultural industry to get information on how the covid-19 pandemic negatively affects the industry.
  • The Crown Princess couple made a digital visit to Norra Real High School in Stockholm. During the virtual visit, the couple attended a video lesson in history and then talked with the principal, teachers and students about how distance education works.
  • Prince Alexander of Sweden celebrated his 4th Birthday. The Duke of Södermanland was born on 19 April 2016 as the first child and son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia.


United Kingdom

  • The Duke of Edinburgh shared a message to recognise the vital and urgent work being done by so many to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On April 21st, Queen Elizabeth celebrated her 94th Birthday.
