QUEEN SILVIA AND PRINCESS MADELEINE AT 2019 CHILHOOD AWARD

Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine of Sweden attended the first Childhood Award ceremony held at The Telia Company Group head office in Westfield Mall of Scandinavia in Solna, Stockholm, Sweden on December 9, 2019



As part of Childhoods 20th anniversary, The Foundation has established the Childhood Award, an annual prize that will be handed out to a person – hero in Sweden who works daily to protect children from violence and abuse, but who rarely receives recognition for his efforts.

The World Childhood Foundation was founded by Queen Silvia of Sweden in 1999 in an effort to reach and support children at risk around the world.

During the award ceremony, Queen Silvia gave a short speech.



The winner of the 2019 Childhood Award is Andreas Grym from Borås, a city and the seat of Borås Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden.

Andreas, through his work as an IT crime investigator at the Gothenburg Police, has been able to identify hundreds of children who have been subjected to online abuse and tracked down suspected perpetrators, leading to convictions throughout the country.

Queen Silvia wore a pink dress with matching printed scarf.

Princess Madeleine wore a new suit from DVF Diane Von Furstenberg – “Stassie” jacket in Navy with matching “Ciara” trousers -. The Princess accessorised her look with Manolo Blahnik Pointed Toe Pumps in Navy Suede and new Elizabeth Cole Henrietta Earrings
