On September 8, Queen Máxima visited the care organization ZorgMies Netherlands as well as a number of carers and their loved ones in the towns of Zwijndrecht, Hendrik Ido Ambacht and Ridderkerk.
The visit focuses on the impact of the corona measures on caregivers, the loved ones they care for and informal care supporters.
In Zwijndrecht and Hendrik Ido Ambacht, Queen Máxima spoke with elderly people at their homes. She also talked to their informal carers and the caregivers who offer support to the older.

Queen Máxima helped with the activities of the informal carers and supporters, such as reading the newspaper and drinking coffee together.
In Ridderkerk, The Queen spoke with informal care supporters of the organization ZorgMies Nederlands about the support that is offered, what substitute informal care means to them and how care is organized during the corona crisis.
ZorgMies Nederlands is an initiative against loneliness among the elderly.
