QUEEN MAXIMA WITH A PARROT IN SOUTH-WEST DRENTHE

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands visited South-West Drenthe on September 18, 2019. During the visit Queen Maxima was fascinated by a friendly grey parrot.

The region is characterized by high technology from, among others, GKN Fokker and ASTRON, the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy.



Nature also plays an important role in Southwest Drenthe where there are three National Parks: Dwingelderveld, Drents-Friese Wold, and Drentsche Aa.

The King and The Queen visited Hoogeveen, Westerveld, De Wolden and Meppel municipalities.
