QUEEN MAXIMA VISITED VALENTINE SCHOOL AND HUNSTMAN HOLLAND BV

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands paid a visit to the Valentine’s School (Dutch: Valentijnschool) in Rotterdam-Delfshaven and the petrochemical company Huntsman Holland BV in Rotterdam-Botle on April 7, 2021. 

The visits were focused on pilot projects about the introduction of self-testing and rapid testing in education and industry to combat the corona virus.

VNO-NCW (known in English as the “Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers), MKB-Nederland and the Dutch government have set up the ‘Operatie Fastlane’ to provide a safe working environment, using rapid tests, for employees who cannot work at home and at a distance of 1.5 meters.



Valentine’s School in Rotterdam-Delfshaven

The Valentine School is one of 22 primary schools participating in the ‘Operatie Fastlane’. The school tests the staff twice a week with a rapid test, with the results following fifteen minutes later.

Queen Máxima was given an explanation of how the operation has been set up. Her Majesty also learned about the challenges and provisional successes of the ‘Operatie Fastlane’.

Huntsman Holland BV in Rotterdam-Botle

Next, Queen Máxima visited the petrochemical company Huntsman Holland BV. For testing, the company uses the breath test, whereby the result is immediately known.



Representatives of VNO-NCW (known in English as the “Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers) inform Queen Máxima about the importance of preventive testing in the workplace, how they support the companies and what logistical issues are faced by these and other participants in the ‘Operatie Fastlane’.
