Queen Mathilde held a virtual meeting with Professor Bruno Humbeeck about how COVID-19 has impacted the mental health of children and young people.

Bruno Humbeeck is an educational psychologist and author of numerous publications in the field of prevention of school and family violence, mistreatment, drug addiction and the care of people with psychosocial and / or family breakdown.

For the virtual conversation, The Queen wore Giorgio Armani Floral Cloth Jacket.

The Queen Had Online Discussion About Week van de Zorg

As part of the Week van de Zorg (English:Care Week), Queen Mathilde had an online discussion on the consequences of the pressure on the nursing staff since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Her Majesty also learned about “Zorgbabbel”, a virtual talk show to pay tribute to healthcare professionals.⁣

Queen Mathilde Held Virtual Meeting with Filippo Grandi

Finally, Queen Mathilde had virtual interviews on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on millions of refugees and on the specific mental health needs of refugees with Filippo Grandi United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and with the managers of three mental health platforms:

  • The Mental Health Reference Center of the Walloon Region – CréSaM (French: Centre de référence en santé mentale de la Région Wallonne).
  • The Brussels Platform for Mental Health (French: Plateforme bruxelloise pour la santé mentale).
  • Steunpunt Geestelijke Gezondheid known as Project Te Gek!?

The meeting focus on the impact of the pandemic on millions of refugees, including issues of immunization, education and domestic violence, as well as actions to address the specific mental health needs of refugees⁣.
