QUEEN MATHILDE VISITS SPECIALIZED RECEPTION CENTER LE TOBOGGAN

On January 26, Queen Mathilde of the Belgians visits the Specialized Reception Center Le Toboggan in the city of Mons (Dutch: Bergen), the capital of the province of Hainaut in the Walloon Region.

Specialized Reception Center Le Toboggan is an institution that welcomes young girls in difficulty placed by the youth support services, as well as young adolescent mothers.

Queen Mathilde received information about the “Marsipulama” project that takes care of teenage mothers in difficulty.

The Queen also talks with teenage girls preparing for an independent living when reaching the age of majority. The COVID-19 crisis and the confinement had a significant impact on the lives of these young people and the functioning of the facility.
