In the afternoon of September 28, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark presented the annual Rungstedlund Prize (Danish: Rungstedlundprisen) to Danish journalist Puk Damsgård.

Rungstedlund Prize is an award of honor, founded by the Rungstedlund Foundation (Rungstedlundfonden) in 1991. The DKK 25,000 prize is annually handed to a person who has made a notable contribution in an area which interested world-renowned Danish author Karen Blixen (1885 – 1962).

Puk Damsgård received the award for, among other things, writing stories about people’s living conditions in several parts of the world and often with a focus on risk areas. ⁣

Normally the prize is handed at the birthday of Karen Blixen on 17 April. However this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony was postponed.
