April 25th, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and her grandson Prince Christian attended the Sunday Service at Asminderød Church (Danish: Asminderød Kirke) near Fredensborg as part of Prince Christian’s confirmation preparation into The Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Denmark.
The Prince will be confirmed at the Frederiksborg Castle Chapel on May 15th. Today’s service was without communal singing but with liturgy, and it was conducted by parish priest Simon A. Drigsdahl.

The Bishop of Aarhus, Henrik Wigh-Poulsen, has been in charge of His Royal Highness’ confirmation preparation and will be in charge of the church ceremony on 15 May.
Both Christian’s grandmother, Queen Margrethe II, and father, Crown Prince Frederik, were confirmed into the Church of Denmark at Frederiksborg Castle Chapel.
Prince Christian, the eldest child of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, was born on 15 October 2005 and is second in line to the Danish throne.
A couple of weeks ago, The Danish Royal House announced that His Royal Highness Prince Christian will attend the Herlufsholm School (Danish: Herlufsholm Skole og Gods) in Næstved.
At the end of June, the Prince concludes the ninth grade at Tranegårdskolen in Gentofte, where the he has been a student since the first year of primary school. The Prince will begin studying at Herlufsholm in Autumn 2021.
Herlufsholm School is a private day and boarding school by the River Suså in Næstved, about 80 kilometers south of Copenhagen. It was founded in 1565 as a boarding school for “sons of noble and other honest men” on the site of a former Benedictine monastery from the 12th century.
