QUEEN MARGRETHE ATTENDED EVENTS TO CELEBRATION THE REUNIFICATION

In 2020, The Centenary of Denmark’s Reunion with Southern Jutland (Danish: Genforeningen 2020) will be celebrated with events and activities throughout the country. 

The Reunification is the term for Southern Jutland’s union with Denmark after the national referendum in 1920. That part of Denmark, was German from 1864 to 1920.

Princess Benedikte looked elegant in long red coat-jacket with matching trousers and clutch. She also wore gold shoes, necklace of pearl and brooch.

The government and Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, hosted the Gala that was the official start of the celebrations of the Reunification.

Queen Margrethe of Denmark arrived at The Royal Theatre. Her Majesty wore long red silk blouse, long black silk skirt.

Her Majesty opted for gold accessories – handbag and shoes – with the final touch of Golden Poppies in her hair.

The Royal Theatre had put together a special performance for the occasion, which featured a number of artistic German-Danish elements. In addition, the program offered musical features from, among others, Danish pianist Sigurd Barrett as well as children’s choirs.



Queen Margrethe Attended Church Service

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark attended a church service at The Church of Our Lady (Danish: Vor Frue Kirke), which is also known as The Cathedral of Copenhagen (Danish: Københavns Domkirke).

The service was held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Reunification, the term for Southern Jutland’s union with Denmark, on January 12, 2020.

At the service, Queen Margrethe was joined by representatives of the Government and the Parliament, as well as guests from the Danish-German borderland.

The service was held in Copenhagen to emphasize that this is both a regional and national celebration of the reunion anniversary.

Queen Margrethe opted for a white ensemble with matching hat. She also worn her Daisy Diamond Brooch.
