QUEEN LETIZIA ATTENDED COP 25 EVENT

Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain attended the main event on “Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production” in the context of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change 2019, also known as COP25, at IFEMA-Madrid on December 11, 2019.

Last week, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia hosted a reception for the Heads of State, Government and Delegations attending The Climate Change Conference at The Royal Palace of Madrid.

The 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference is taking place from 2 to 13 December 2019 under the presidency of the Chilean Government with logistical support of the Government of Spain.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The SDGs, set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and intended to be achieved by the year 2030.

The targets of Goal 12 include using eco-friendly production methods and reducing the amount of waste. By 2030, national recycling rates should increase, as measured in tons of material recycled. Further, companies should adopt sustainable practices and publish sustainability reports.
