QUEEN ELIZABETH VISITED THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION INDUSTRIES

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) village in Aylesford, Kent, where she toured facilities designed to support armed forced veterans and their families, ahead of Remembrance Day.

The Royal British Legion Industries was established in 1919 and this year is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Queen Elizabeth II was given a traditional Fijian welcome by gardener and veteran John Ahben.

The charity helps Armed Forces veterans, disabled people and people who are unemployed with housing for them and their families.



Queen Elizabeth II opened the new Appleton Lodge care facility and visited the Centenary Village housing project.

Queen Elizabeth II met with World War II veteran and former ‘Chindit from the Burma campaign, John Riggs, aged 98, in his new apartment in the new Appleton Lodge care facility run.

Her Majesty also buried a Time Capsule during her visit.

The Queen wore purple coat with matching dress and a vibrant purple felt hat by Angela Kelly. For accessories she wore her pearl and diamond button earrings, and her three-strand pearl necklace.

She also worn a purple brooch with central amethyst and diamonds around it. The piece accentuate Her Majesty purple outfit.

The brooch was given to Queen Victoria as a gift from her aunt The Duchess of Kent.
