Princess Marie Visited AIDS – Fondet

Princess Marie visited the Danish AIDS Foundation (Danish AIDS-Fondet) as a patron and attended a working meeting in connection with World AIDS Day 2019.

Today Princess Marie opted for a classic black minimalist look with turtleneck sweater, trousers and ankle boots.

The Princess also wore small diamond stud earrings.

Princess Marie Visited Wefood

Later, Princess Marie visited the new Wefood store as patron of the DanChurchAid (Danish: Folkekirkens Nødhjælp) in Copenhagen.

DanChurchAid is a Danish humanitarian non governmental organisation aimed at supporting the world’s poorest. It was founded in 1922.

In February 2016, The Princess officially opened the first Wefood store, the world’s first supermarket only with surplus goods, and since then Her Royal Highness has participated in a series of events focusing on food waste.

From DanChurchAid’s website:

“Wefood sells goods that regular supermarkets can no longer sell due to overdue ‘best before’ dates, incorrect labels or damaged packaging. The products found in Wefood are still edible and safe to consume according to the Danish food legislation, but have simply lost their value to the partner donating them.”

Princess Marie received on behalf of DanChurchAID a check of 3 410 000 Danish Krones from the Sailling Group.
