PRINCESS LEONOR AT THE PRINCESS OF GIRONA AWARDS

King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia and daughters Princess Leonor of Asturias and Infanta Sofia travelled to Barcelona, Spain to presided over events and award ceremony of The Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGi).

In addition to her official title of Princess of Asturias, Princess Leonor bears the historical titles of Princess of Girona, Princess of Viana, Duchess of Montblanc, Countess of Cervera and Lady of Balaguer.



The Princess of Girona Foundation’s main objective is to work for young people in all areas that are critical for their future. The Foundation was established in 2009 and this year celebrates its 10th anniversary.

About Princess of Girona Foundation:

” The FPdGi is a private foundation set up by civil society entities in Girona in 2009 and backed by 88 distinguished trustees. The honorary chairman is His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain, on behalf of his daughter Princess Leonor. The Foundation seeks to become a benchmark at national level in supporting young people in their professional and personal development, and has a special interest in identifying young people with talent who can act as role models for other young people (FPdGi Awards), launching programmes to improve employability (Talent rescuers programme) and fostering educational innovation in teacher training (Educating entrepreneurial talent). In 2019, the FPdGi will invest 2.8 million euros in programmes to benefit young people”.

Queen Letizia wore Roberto Torretta red pantsuit from Fall/Winter 2017/18 collection.

Meanwhile, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia wore coordinated blue and navy dresses with matching blue suede ballerinas.

The traditional meeting of the advisory council of the Princess of Girona Foundation with King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia took place, for the first time, with the presence of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia.

In the evening, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia attended The Princess of Girona Foundation Award 2019 at The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya on the North Eastern side of Barcelona.
