PRINCESS ASTRID OF BELGIUM REOPENS THE ATOMIUM

On June 1st, Princess Astrid of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este accompanied by her husband Prince Lorenz, Archduke of Austria-Este reopens the Atomium in Brussels.

The monument welcomes visitors after 11 weeks of confinement period due to the measures taken against the spread of Covid-19.⁣

The Princess wore white dress with white jacket and GG Marmont matelassé shoulder bag by Gucci.

Prince Joachim, who is making international headlines these days, is the son of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz.

According to his mother Princess Astrid, Prince Joachim, who has tested positive for Covid-19 after not respecting all quarantaine measures, is “in better condition and furthermore, no comment, please”, she told the press at the reopening.





The Atomium is a landmark building in Brussels, originally constructed for the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. It is located on the Heysel Plateau, where the exhibition took place. It is now a museum.

Designed by the engineer André Waterkeyn and architects André and Jean Polak, it stands 102 m (335 ft) tall. Its nine 18 m (60 ft) diameter stainless steel clad spheres are connected, so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an α-iron (ferrite) crystal magnified 165 billion times.
