PRINCE WILLIAM PAID TRIBUTE TO HIS GRANDFATHER THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge has paid tribute to his grandfather, The Duke of Edinburgh, who peacefully passed away on April 9th at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle.

The Prince has released a statement to honor the life of the late Duke of Edinburgh. The message is accompanied with a sweet photo of The Duke of Edinburgh and his great-grandson Prince George of Cambridge. The photo was taken in 2015 by The Duchess of Cambridge at Anmer Hall, the country residence of the family.

“My grandfather’s century of life was defined by service – to his country and Commonwealth, to his wife and Queen, and to our family.”

“I feel lucky to have not just had his example to guide me, but his enduring presence well into my own adult life – both through good times and the hardest days. I will always be grateful that my wife had so many years to get to know my grandfather and for the kindness he showed her.”
