Prince Joachim of Belgium, son of Princess Astrid of Belgium and Archduke Lorenz of Austria, has tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a party in Cordoba, Spain.

Last Sunday May 24, Princess Astrid’s son and King Philippe’s nephew flew from Belgium to Spain and took a train to Córdoba, a city in Andalusia, southern Spain.
He was obliged to go into a 2-week quarantine in Madrid, but he didn’t.

The party was possibly a violation of lockdown rules and according to a document of Andalusian government, 27 guests were invited.
According to the Belgian Royal Palace, until the private party in Córdoba last Tuesday, Prince Joachim strictly adhered to the rules on confinement in the fight against the coronavirus. He lived in self-isolation with his parents at their home in Laeken, Brussels.
However, Prince Joachim had apologized for Spanish lockdown party. He said: “I have not respected all quarantine measures”.
