MARY AND FREDERIK OF DENMARK VISIT FRANCE – DAY 2

From 7 October to 9 October Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark are making an official visit to Paris, France.

The Danish delegation consist of around fifty companies and organisations. The visit is named ‘Denmark and France – together for a better life and a sustainable future’ and focused on healthcare, energy and sustainable cities.

Tuesday 8 October  2019

The second day of the visit mainly consist of solo events for the Crown Prince Couple.

Attendance at meeting in the Assemblée Nationale

Crown Prince Frederik visited The National Assembly (French: Assemblée Nationale), where he attended meetings with the Social Committee of the Assembly.



Visit at nursing care home Korian Monceau

Meanwhile Crown Princess Mary pays a visit to ‘La maison de retraite Korian Monceau’, a private nursing home that is part of the Korian Group.

Seminar at Frederikskirken

Next, Crown Princess Mary participated in procurement seminar at Frederikskirken, The Danish Church in Paris.

Visit on Ile Séguin

In the afternoon, Crown Prince Frederik visited Île Seguin (Seguin Island) on the Seine river between Boulogne-Billancourt and Sèvres, outside of Paris.

During most of the twentieth century a factory of the car manufacturer Renault was placed on the island, but today the space is being used for an urban development project.

Crown Prince Frederik visited La Seine Musicale, a music and performing arts center, which was built with innovative energy solutions.

Participation in the conference Development of Greater Paris.

Afterwards, Frederik attended a wind seminar in the La Défense business district and the conference Development of Greater Paris.



Participation in investment seminar at Maison du Danemark

The Crown Princess took part in an investment seminar at Maison du Danemark (English: House of Denmark, Danish: Danmarkshuset), which is a cultural institution that has the goal of promoting international knowledge of Denmark.

The Maison is used for presentation and exhibition of Danish culture and commercial interests. The Crown Princess takes part in a business luncheon at the Danish “Restaurant Flora Danica”. The restaurant is in Maison du Danemark on Avenue des Champs-Elysées.

Visit to the Private Hospital Les Peupliers

Afterwards, The Crown Princess visited the private Hospital Les Peupliers (French: l’hôpital privé des Peupliers).

Dinner at Hôtel de Ville, Paris City Hall

In the evening, Mary and Frederik attended a reception at the Paris City Hall Hôtel de Ville.  

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, who are currently living in Paris, also attended the dinner.

Crown Princess Mary wore a new lace dress, Gianvito Rossi blue silk pumps and Prada blue silk clutch and her Cartier bracelet. Thanks to UFO No More.

The reception was followed by a gala dinner for the business delegation to mark the end of the business trip.  Ambassador of Denmark to France Michael Starbæk Christensen hosted the dinner.
