SPANISH ROYAL TOUR QUEEN LETIZIA AND KING FELIPE VISITED CUENCA

The Spanish Royal Tour continues, King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited Cuenca, a city in the autonomous community of Castile–La Mancha in central Spain on July 2.

This royal tour is part of the campaign “Spain for Sure”. The campaign promote tourists to visit Spain after COVID-19 pandemic.

Queen Letizia and King Felipe Visit ASPADEC

First, Their Majesties visited the facilities of ASPADEC, located in the “El Terminillo” Farm-School in Cuenca.

ASPADEC is a non profit association dedicated to the inclusion in society of people with intellectual disabilities as full members, in an example of collaboration between public administrations and different entities social.

Subsequently, The King and Queen started a tour of the facilities, guided by the President of the Association Jesús Fuente, and by the Director, Julia Ruiz.

This visit included the occupational workshop and the farm, where some of the center’s users were performing tasks under the supervision of ASPADEC therapists. This tour has included the residential pavilion, where the Day Center is located, and a room for those employed by the users of the association to reside, as well as the living area with supports, in which two users were doing housework accompanied by a professional.

Their Majesties Visit Plaza Mayor in Cuenca

After visited ASPADEC facilities, King Felipe and Queen Letizia went to the Plaza Mayor (English: Cuenca’s Main Square).

Their Majesties greeted well-wishers.

Queen Letizia and King Felipe walked along Obispo Valero Street, which is located in the vicinity of the Cathedral of Cuenca

Museum of Spanish Abstract Art

Afterwards, Their Majesties walked to the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art. This is the first museum of abstract art in Spain, founded by Fernando Zóbel in 1964 in a building owned by the Cuenca City Council, which at the time gave it up for a symbolic price.

In the Museum they made a tour of several rooms, especially in The Sala Grande or Sala de Las Vigas and The Zóbel Library.

With the tour of the museum the visit of Their Majesties to Cuenca concluded.



Royal Fashion: Queen Letizia of Spain

Queen Letizia wore Mango Bow detail Jumpsuit paired with her Mint & Rose Sardinia Suede Wedges. The Queen carried a Massimo Dutti x Jane Birkin Contrast leather and raffia crossbody bag.

For accessories, she opted for a pair of open hoop earrings with asymmetrical design and her Karen Hallam Silver Signature Ring.
