King Albert II and his wife Queen Paola met with Princess Delphine, previously known as Delphine Boël, at Belvédère Castle in Laeken on Sunday October 25th.

Délphine and mother Baroness Sybille de Selys Longchamps.
Albert II, Queen Paola and Princess Delphine shared the following message after their meeting:
“On Sunday October 25 a new chapter, rich of emotion, peace of mind, understanding and hope was begun. During our meeting in Castle Belvédère each of us, in serenity and empathy, managed to express their feelings and experiences.
After the turmoil, the wound and the suffering, it is now time for forgiveness, healing and reconciliation. Together we have decided on this new path. This will take patience and effort, but we are determined.”Delphine, Paola and Albert
Princess Délphine also met with her half-brother, King Philippe on 9 October at the Palace of Laeken.
On 27 January 2020, a DNA tests showed that King Albert II was the father of Delphine Boël. In October 2020, Delphine and her children, Joséphine and Oscar, were granted princely titles by the Belgian court of appeals. As she was born out of wedlock, Princess Delphine and her descendants are not in the line of succession to the Belgian throne.
