EMPEROR NARUHITO AND EMPRESS MASAKO HELD TEA PARTY FOR ROYALS

On 23 October 2019, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako held a tea party at The Akasaka Imperial Residence for Members of the Royal Families that attended their Enthronement Ceremony (Sokui-rei-Seiden-no-gi).

The Enthronement Ceremony of Their Majesties took place at The Tokyo Imperial Palace on October 22, 2019.



Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako welcomed their guests, including King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, King Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah and Queen Azizah Iskandar of Malaysia, King Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, Prince Albert II of Monaco, King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia and sister Princess Samdech Reach Botrei Preah Anoch Norodom, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsum Pema of Bhutan, among others.

Empress Masako and Emperor Naruhito welcomed King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia and sister Princess Samdech Reach Botrei Preah Anoch Norodom.



Akasaka Imperial Residence is where Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako reside with their daughter Princess Aiko, and is located within the grounds of the Akasaka Estate.

Crown Prince Fumihito and his wife Princess Kiko, Emperor Emeritus Akihito and Empress Emerita Michiko and other members of the Japanese Imperial Family were also present.
