
DUTCH ROYAL FAMILY ATTENDED PRINCESS IRENE’S BIRTHDAY
King Willem Alexander and members of the Dutch Royal Family attended the official 80th birthday celebration of Princess Irene of the Netherlands at Royal Theatre Carré (Dutch: Koninklijk Theater Carré) in Amsterdam on September 16, 2019.
Princess Irene (Irene Emma Elisabeth; born 5 August 1939) is the second child of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands and Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld.

Dutch Royals at Princess Irene’s Birthday
For her birthday Princess Irene was joined by her sisters Princess Beatrix and Princess Margriet. Irene youngest sister, Princess Christina died on 16 August 2019, aged 72.

Princess Irene married Carlos Hugo, Duke of Parma in the Borghese Chapel at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, Italy, on 29 April 1964.

The couple has four children: Prince Carlos Xavier, Duke of Bourbon-Parma (born 1970), twins Princess Margarita, Countess of Colorno (born 1972) and Prince Jaime, Count of Bardi (born 1972) and Princess Carolina, Marchioness of Sala (1974).
The marriage ended in divorce in 1981.
