The Danish Royal Family has started their Annual Summer Holidays, and have been sharing their summer pictures on their social media accounts. Here are the pictures that have been released.
Queen Margrethe II and the Crown Prince Family at Gråsten Palace
16 July 2019, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark arrived at the Gråsten Palace for her annual Holiday. The Queen received a warm welcome from her grandchildren: Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
The Danish Royal House (Det Danske Kongehus) shared on its social media account a few photos of Queen Margrethe with the Crown Princely Family: Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and their children.
Queen Margrethe II and Princess Benedikte at the Gråsten Ring Rider Parade
21 July 2019, Queen Margrethe II joined by her sister Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg attended the Gråsten Ring Rider Parade outside Gråsten Palace.
It’s tradition for the Danish Royals to greet the riders at the castles gate. The riders brought flowers and small gifts for Queen Margrethe.
The flowers decorate the rooms of Gråsten Palace.
Later, Queen Margrethe II joined by her sister Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended a religious service at the Chapel of Gråsten Palace.

Queen Margrethe, Princess Benedikte and Princess Christina of Sweden at the Changing of the Guards Ceremony
2 August 2019, Queen Margrethe II was joined by her sister, Princess Benedikte, and her cousin, Princess Christina of Sweden, Mrs. Magnuson (sister of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden) for the Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Gråsten Palace.
Prince Joachim and Princess Marie at the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix 2019
3 August 2019, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Athena attended the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix 2019 on the grounds of Bellahøj in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix (CPHG) is a vintage motor sports car race that takes place in the first weekend of August. Prince Joachim is patrón of the CPHG.
Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and children visited different Danish cities
5 August 2019, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and their children are currently visiting different regions of Denmark aboard of The Royal Yacht Dannebrog.
The Crown Prince Family visited Backhaus-Brown & Glassmedjen a glass workshop, Egevaek a carpentry workshop and Knud Rasmussen House in Hundested.
“The Knud Rasmussens House was built for the polar explorer Knud Rasmussen who lived there between his many expeditions to Greenland. The house is situated 30 metres (98 ft) above the beach, and offers a beautiful view of the Kattegat. It has been turned into a museum dedicated to the explorer and his work. It is full of photographs and paintings of Greenland”.Hundested
6 August 2019, The Crown Princely Family visited Kongsøre, where the Frømmanskorpset is located. The Frogman Corps (Danish: Frømandskorpset) is the maritime special operations force of the Danish Defence part of Special Operations Command.
Crown Prince Frederik received a 9 months training as a frogman in The Frogman Corps when he was 27 years old.

9 August 2019 – The Crown Prince Family continue their summer tour with The Royal Yacht Dannebrog. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and children: Christian, Vincent, Josephine and Isabella visited Læsø Island.
The Family spent the first part of the day exploring the beautiful Island. A particular feature of Læsø is its half-timbered houses thatched with eelgrass.
Later the Crown Prince Family visited Læsø Saltsyderi, (Laesoe Saltworks) where the island’s old tradition of souring salt is maintained.
Queen Margrethe is Staying at Château de Cayx
16 August 2019 – Her Majesty Queen Margrethe of Denmark is staying at the Château de Cayx, the residence of the Danish Royal Family located in the wine district of Cahors in southern France.
Queen Margrethe is accompanied by her dog Tilia.
It’s been 45 years since Queen Margrethe and her husband the late Prince Henrik bought the Château de Cayx. The purchase came about during a summer stay at Prince Henrik’s childhood home Le Cayrou in 1974, when the Royal Couple heard that the castle was for sale. Soon after, The Queen and the Prince could call themselves castle owners in France. The Château de Cayx is located just 15 kilometers from Prince Henrik’s childhood home.
The Château de Cayx has been the Danish Royal Family residence in France. During Prince Henrik’s lifetime, the Queen and Prince spent several weeks at the Château de Cayx each summer. Her Majesty has continued this tradition after the death of Prince Henrik on 13 February 2018.
