
DANISH ROYAL FAMILY ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Queen Margrethe of Denmark
French diplomat, Henri de Laborde de Monpezat, presented Princess Margrethe of Denmark (now Queen Margrethe II) with a “toi et moi” ring, when they officially announced their engagement on 5 October 1966.
The “toi et moi” ring features a pair of twinned cushion cut diamonds, rumoured to be as much as six carats each, with baguettes on either side, set on a yellow gold band. The ring was made by Van Cleef & Arpels.

Alexandra Christina Manley – Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg
Prince Joachim presented his first wife Alexandra Christina Manley with a Diamond and Ruby Engagement Ring.
The ring was made by Danish jeweller John Rørvig and it features a 2.5 carat diamond and two small rubies, one on each side, set in a gold band. The engagement was officially announced in May 1995.
Alexandra and Prince Joachim divorced on 8 April 2005.
Mary Elizabeth Donaldson, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark
Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark presented Mary Elizabeth Donaldson (now Crown Princess Mary) with an engagement ring featuring an emerald cut diamond and two emerald-cut ruby baguettes, which are similar to the colour of Denmark’s flag.

For her sencond wife, French Marie Cavallier, Prince Joachim chose a ring meant to reflect her home flag of France.
Marie’s engagement ring is a three stone piece that features a central Diamond flanked by a Ruby and a Sapphire. It is set in a gold band.
