DANICA MARINKOVIC, PRINCESS OF YUGOSLAVIA

Danica Marinković was born in Belgrade on 17 August 1986 to Milan “Cile” Marinković (born 1947 in Belgrade), an impressionist painter, and his wife, Zorica “Beba” Krupež.

The family lived in Paris since 1992 and she is officially a citizen of France. Danica completed most of her studies in Paris.

In London, Danica got her Master’s degree in Graphic Design and Communication at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, before embarking on a career as a graphic designer, her artistic name is Dana MAAR.



On 24 July 2017, the engagement of Danica Marinković and Prince Philip of Yugoslavia, also known as Philip Karađorđević, was announced.

Philip is the second son of the last Crown Prince of the former Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Alexander, and Princess Maria da Gloria, Duchess of Segorbe.



Prince Philip and Danica Marinković married on 7 October 2017 at the Cathedral Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Belgrade, Serbia. Their witnesses were Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden and Peter, Hereditary Prince of Yugoslavia, fraternal twin of Prince Philip.

Princess Danica gave birth to their son Prince Stefan in Belgrade on 25 February 2018.

Princess Katherine, Crown Prince Alexander, Princess Maria da Gloria, Prince Philip, Princess Danica, Milan Cile Marinkovic and Beba Marinkovic during the presentation of Prince Stefan.



Stefan was christened on 15 December 2018 at the Royal Palace’s Chape. The Royal Palace is the official residence of the Karađorđević royal family.

The couple and son Prince Stefan lived in London, but as of July 2020 they relocated and currently live in Belgrade, Serbia.
