Crown Princess Mary traveled to Frederikssund to attend the official inauguration of Crown Princess Mary’s Bridge (Danish: Kronprinsesse Mary’s Bro) on September 28.
The bridge, named after The Crown Princess, connects West and North Zealand across Roskilde Fjord.
The new bridge is expected to relieve traffic on the nearby Crown Prince Frederik’s Bridge (Danish: Kronprins Frederiks Bro) built in 1935 and named after Frederik 9.
After cutting the ribbon, The Crown Princess took a stroll along the bridge.
For the occasion, Crown Princess Mary helped to start off “One Mile”, a special race with around 10,000 people walking or running over the new bridge.
