Prince Charles’s christening at The Abbey of St. Maurice and St. Maurus of Clervaux, commonly know as Clervaux Abbey, was presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, Archbishop of Luxembourg, and concelebrated by His Eminence Monsignor Leo Wagener, Bishop.
Prince Charles was dressed in the lace baptism gown worn by members of the Grand Ducal Family, including his grandfather Grand Duke Henri.
Per tradition, the Prince’s godparents are parent’s siblings, one from each side: Prince Louis of Luxembourg (Guillaume’s brother) and Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy (Stéphanie’s sister).
The baptism candle was created at the Käerzefabrik in Heiderscheid, an artisanal candle factory located north of the Grand Duchy.
