BELGIAN ROYAL FAMILY VISITED THE ARDENNES

“Let’s take full advantage of Belgian tourism during the summer months!” For the second day in a row, King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and their kids Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eleonore came out for a special outdoor activity to promote local tourism.

This time, the family joined by Former King Albert II and Queen Paola, parents of King Philippe, went on a day trip to The Ardennes, situated in the south-east of Belgium.

Former King Albert and Queen Paola appeared in public for the first time since the corona crisis struck Belgium. Their previous official duty was in February.

During the family reunion, the Royals posed for photos at The Giant’s Tomb (French: Le Tombeau du Géant), a fantastic panoramic lookout point in the village of Botassart near the municipality of Bouillon.

Following the photo session at The Giant’s Tomb, King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and their kids walked 4 km to the banks of the Semois River, known as the Semoy in France, without King Albert and Queen Paola because of increased mobility.
