BELGIAN ROYAL FAMILY ATTENDED MASS FOR DECEASED MEMBERS OF THE FAMLY

Every year on February 17, members of the Belgian Royal Family holds a special mass to commemorate deceased members of the Family. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the normal service did not take place this year.

However, members of the Belgian Royal Family – King Philippe, Queen Mathilde, King Albert, Queen Paola, Princess Astrid and daughter Princess Luisa Maria and Princess Delphine and husband James O’Hare – visited the Royal Crypt at the Church of Our Lady of Laeken in Brussels to pay their respects.

Her Majesty Queen Mathilde wore Pearl and Diamond Brooch and Pearl Stud Earrings with Diamonds.



The Royal Crypt (French: Crypte Royale) holds the tombs of the Belgian Royal Family, including those of all the former Belgian Kings.

Princess Delphine and Husband James O’Hare

For first time Princess Delphine (daughter of King Albert II, born out of wedlock) has attended an official event with the Belgian Royal Family. She has been titled “Princess of Belgium” since October 2020.
