On July 2nd, Italian journalist Beatrice Borromeo launched her book “Capitan Papaia e Greta, the little warrior who wanted to cross the ocean”.
Captain Papaia e Greta make children understand the importance of respect the environment starting from the journey of the young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, who has become a symbol of the mobilization of boys and girls around the world about the serious issue of climate change.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to Fondation Prince Albert II – committed since 2006 to the protection of the environment at an international level – and will be destined for the protection of monk seals in the Mediterranean Sea.
“Capitan Papaia e Greta” is inspired on the voyage of Pierre Casiraghi (Beatrice’s husband) and Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg across the Atlantic Ocean from Plymouth, England, to New York, USA, in the racing yacht Malizia II.
In August 2019 Pierre Casiraghi together with Boris Herrmann from Team Malizia transported Greta Thunberg and her father Svante Thunberg on across the Atlantic to enable her participation in the annual United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The voyage lasted fifteen days, from 14 to 28 August 2019.
