ALEXANDRA OF LUXEMBOURG CELEBRATES HER 30th BIRTHDAY

Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg, Princess of Nassau and Princess of Bourbon-Parma celebrates her 30th birthday.

Alexandra Joséphine Teresa Charlotte Marie Wilhelmine was born on 16 February 1991 at Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital in Luxembourg. She is the fourth child and only daughter of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.



Alexandra has three older brothers:Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Prince Félix, and Prince Louis, and one younger: Prince Sébastien.

Princess Alexandra attended primary school at Angelsberg, a small town in the commune of Fischbach, in central Luxembourg.

Her Royal Highness finished her secondary education at the Lycée Vauban, a French High School located in Gasperich, a quarter of Luxembourg City. She received her baccalauréat, a French national academic qualification that students can obtain at the completion of their secondary education (at the end of the lycée), with honors in the literature stream.

Later, the Princess attended the Franciscan University of Steubenville, a private Catholic university in Steubenville, Ohio, United States, where she studied Psychology and Social Sciences.

Alexandra continued her studies in Paris, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy, and in Dublín, where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Interreligious Studies with a Specialization in Conflict Resolution from the Irish School of Ecumenics (ISE), an Institute of Trinity College Dublin.

Princess Alexandra is a volunteer in helping refugees.

In 2017 she accompanied her father, Grand Duke Henri during the state visit to Japan while her mother was absent.
