A DIFFERENT VICTORIADAGEN 2020

Due to the corona pandemic, this year the celebration of Victoriadagen 2020 has been a little different.

Gun Salute

The Crown Princess’s birthday celebration started with a 21-gun salute from The Armed Forces in Skeppsholmen, Stockholm and similar tributes taking place around different localities in Sweden.

Walkabout at Solliden Palace

The traditional walkabout outside Solliden Palace on the island of Öland was canceled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

In normal times, islanders and tourists gather at the gardens of Solliden Palace to congratulate and talk to the Crown Princess.

This is usually attended by Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, their children Oscar and Estelle, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

For this year, The Crown Princess has released a video message (in Swedish) from Solliden.
